Fire devastates LG Electronics store in Lagos, destroying goods.

A fire has engulfed the store of global electronics manufacturer LG at Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos State. The incident, which happened around midnight on Sunday, destroyed goods valued at millions of naira.This information was disclosed in a statement by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, through its Head of Public Affairs Unit, Nosa Okunbor. He mentioned that the agency received distress calls via its toll-free emergency lines at 12:15 am, and fire officials arrived 25 minutes later to extinguish the blaze, which had already consumed items worth millions of naira.Fire incident at the LG Electronics store in Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos State. The statement read, “The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency received distress calls through the 767/112 toll-free emergency lines at 12:15 am and activated the Lagos State Emergency Response Plans. Upon the arrival of the Dolphin Response Team from LASEMA’s Igando Base at 12:40 am, they found a raging fire at the LG office located at the aforementioned address.”Okunbor stated that the fire damaged equipment, small forklifts, and household items such as TVs, refrigerators, and air conditioners, with an estimated value in the hundreds of millions of naira.The statement mentioned that the fire “has been contained” thanks to the joint efforts of various emergency responders.”The main warehouse has suffered significant damage from the fire. However, due to the effective collaboration of the Agency’s LRT, LRU Fire Unit, the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other key responders, the fire has been contained and prevented from spreading to nearby structures, including other warehouses, a gas station, diesel tankers, expatriate quarters, and other surrounding buildings.”The joint response team remains actively engaged in fighting the fire.”The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
