The former Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, has urged Nigerians to shift from a culture of blame to one of solution-focused discussions.
Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, Kachikwu expressed concern that Nigerians often dwell on identifying problems rather than seeking solutions. He announced plans to hold physical town hall meetings across the country, where discussions will center on addressing the current economic situation.
Kachikwu explained that the “Let’s Talk Solutions Roundtables” will bring together the government and the public to discuss the nation’s problems and outline expectations for both the government and affluent Nigerians.
“We excel at playing the blame game and pointing out issues, but we fall short when it comes to offering solutions. Why? Because in a nation obsessed with problems, solutions don’t gain traction or go viral on social media,
” Kachikwu remarked.He emphasized the need to move from the streets to the solutions roundtable, stating,
“We are in a difficult situation, and the only question should be, ‘What do we do?
‘”The ADC presidential candidate highlighted that the government cannot solve everything on its own, urging the public to voice their ideas on how to build a nation that works for everyone.
He also noted that tribal and ethnic divisions have hindered the country’s progress, calling for a new Nigeria where these sentiments are set aside.
“We need a new Nigeria where tribalism and ethnicity have no place. It’s too challenging to move Nigeria forward with such deep-seated sentiments,” Kachikwu said.
He emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “We must rise above these sentiments if we truly want this government to succeed.”
