Mr. Khalil Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), announced that the agency would provide a 50% discount for drivers who wish to convert their vehicles using the newly launched MY-CNG App.

In a statement by NASENI’s Director of Information, Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, Halilu made this disclosure on Saturday while leading the launch of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative’s Conversion Incentive Programme for the rideshare sector at NASENI’s CNG Engineering, Training, and Conversion facility in Utako, Abuja.

The event was attended by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperipe Ekpo, among others.

Halilu underscored the pivotal role of Pi-CNG in advancing Nigeria’s gas revolution. He noted that the initiative has quickly become central to discussions on the country’s energy future.”Just over two months ago, we inaugurated this comprehensive CNG facility in collaboration with Portland and Dana Motors.

The Conversion Incentive Programme, tailored for the rideshare sector, including Uber and Bolt drivers, offers a 50% discount to those who register and utilize the newly introduced MY-CNG App.”CNG is a cleaner, more affordable vehicle fuel, capable of reducing transportation costs by up to 70% and delivering 40% savings for car owners,” he stated.

Halilu emphasized that this initiative is a response to the current economic challenges, presenting a practical solution to reduce living costs for Nigerians.

He also highlighted the significance of the partnership, praising collaborators like Pi-CNG, Portland, and Dana Motors for their commitment.

“The launch of the MY-CNG App and the Conversion Incentive Programme demonstrates NASENI’s dedication to harnessing technology for national transformation,” the statement concluded.
