French footballer Benjamin Mendy has emerged victorious in a legal dispute with Manchester City, securing around £11 million in unpaid wages after being acquitted of serious charges.

Facing multiple allegations, including rape, Mendy was cleared due to insufficient evidence.

However, during the proceedings, City suspended his salary, forcing Mendy to sell his Cheshire mansion and borrow funds from former teammates to cover legal costs, bills, and child support.

The tribunal ruled that Mendy is entitled to most, though not all, of his withheld wages. Judge Joanne Dunlop noted that City lawfully withheld pay for the roughly five months Mendy spent in custody, leaving the exact final amount still under negotiation.
