NCAA Bans Flight Crew from Operating for Multiple Airlines Over Safety Concerns

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has prohibited licensed flight crew members from working for more than one airline.

This directive, issued on November 6, 2024, follows surveillance reports revealing that flight crew members were using their simulator and proficiency checks to operate for multiple carriers. NCAA’s acting Director-General, Capt. Chris Najomo, emphasized that this practice poses a safety risk to the aviation industry.

Effective from November 11, 2024, violators will face enforcement actions, and future simulator renewals will be linked to the operator’s specific training program.
