Six Injured as United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lagos

A United Airlines flight from Lagos to Washington D.C. made an emergency landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) early Friday morning, leaving six people seriously injured.

The Boeing 787-8, carrying 245 passengers and 11 crew members, experienced an undisclosed incident shortly after takeoff. It returned to Lagos and landed safely.

While all passengers and crew were able to disembark, six individuals, including four passengers and two crew members, sustained serious injuries. An additional 32 passengers and five crew members suffered minor injuries.

Emergency responders were immediately on the scene, and injured passengers were transported to local hospitals. The aircraft itself did not suffer major damage.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is investigating the incident and will release further updates as they become available.
