Teenager Suffers Mental Breakdown After Alleged Sexual Abuse by Lagos Hotelier
LAGOS – A 16-year-old secondary school student in Lagos is reportedly suffering from a mental breakdown after disclosing that he was sexually abused by a prominent hotelier in the Bucknor, Isheri Oshun area of the state.
The student confided in his mother before the new year, revealing that the hotel owner had allegedly lured him and four other students to his hotel and sexually assaulted them.
The shocking revelation reportedly triggered a mental health crisis in the teenager. His father, Edozie Christian, stated that his son began exhibiting severe behavioral changes and signs of mental distress shortly after the confession.
Despite seeking medical attention at various hospitals, including a psychiatric facility, the teenager’s condition continues to deteriorate.
The case took a dramatic turn when one of the other students came forward and corroborated the allegations to the police, providing detailed accounts of the abuse.
The hotelier, initially elusive to law enforcement, has been apprehended and is currently in police custody. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Adegoke Fayoade, confirmed the incident and the ongoing investigation.
