2Baba Declared Missing by Family, Petition DSS for Urgent Help After Singer Disappears Following Suspicious Social Media Messages and Recent Proposal to Lawmaker
The family of renowned Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has declared him missing and petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) for urgent intervention.
In a petition signed by their lawyer, Wilson Anuge, and dated February 7, the Idibia family stated that the singer had been missing since February 10, 2025. According to them, 2Baba left his residence that day in loungewear for his routine walk but never returned.
Efforts by his family, staff, and record label to locate him have been unsuccessful. They also raised concerns over suspicious messages sent from his social media accounts, allegedly soliciting financial assistance—an action uncharacteristic of the financially independent artist.
With fears of possible abduction or identity misuse, the family urged the DSS to deploy its resources to locate and rescue the music icon.
Amid the growing concerns, a viral video surfaced on Thursday showing 2Baba proposing to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osaruwa, shortly after reports of his planned divorce from estranged wife Annie Idibia. His mother, Rose Idibia, also released a video on Friday, pleading with Nigerians to urge Natasha to release her son, stating he had not been himself lately.
