APC Maintains Silence on NEC, Caucus Meeting Dates as Stakeholders Await Rescheduling Amid Ongoing Consultations

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that consultations are ongoing with key stakeholders before finalizing a new date for the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, which were called off last year.

The crucial gatherings, expected to be chaired by President Bola Tinubu, would also include Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Muhammadu Buhari, past and present APC governors, ex-Senate presidents, Speakers of the House of Representatives, state party chairmen, and the National Working Committee.

These meetings would mark the first major assembly of party leaders since Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje assumed office as APC National Chairman. Initially scheduled for September 11 and 12, 2023, in Abuja, both sessions were indefinitely postponed without an official explanation.

Despite growing concerns over the delay, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, confirmed that a new date would soon be announced. Addressing speculation of a possible February rescheduling, he acknowledged it as a possibility but did not confirm a specific timeline.

Other senior APC officials, including National Legal Adviser Prof. Abdulkareem Kana and Deputy National Organising Secretary Nze Chidi Duru, also reassured party members that the meetings would be held at the right time, emphasizing the importance of proper timing and stakeholder inclusion.
