Bauchi Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Man for Allegedly Killing His Mother with a Pestle After an Altercation
BAUCHI – A 20-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly killing his 40-year-old mother with a pestle in the Abujan Kwata area of Bauchi metropolis. Police spokesman, CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the incident, stating the suspect attacked Salama Abdullahi following an altercation on February 24th.
The Peace and Security Committee reported the assault, detailing severe injuries, including fractured hands. Officers responded, transporting the victim to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The alleged murder weapon, a pestle, has been recovered.
Commissioner of Police Auwal Mohammed has ordered a full investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department, with the suspect to be charged upon completion.
