Peter Obi Joins TikTok, Encourages Supporters to Follow as Political Figures Expand Their Presence on Social Media Ahead of 2027 Elections
Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has officially joined TikTok, the popular video-sharing platform. Announcing his arrival on his X page Tuesday, Obi urged supporters to follow his verified account.
“This is my official and only TikTok page. Kindly join me in building a New Nigeria that is POssible. – PO,” he wrote.
As of this report, Obi had gained over 21,000 followers.
His move follows former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s TikTok debut last week after his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) ahead of the 2027 elections. El-Rufai amassed over 200,000 followers within 24 hours, stating that his page will focus on politics and his new party’s activities.
