Bauchi State Announces April 6 Resumption Date for Schools After Ramadan Break, Emphasizing Timely Return and JAMB Preparation

The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has confirmed that schools will reopen on Sunday, April 6, following a five-week break for Ramadan. In a statement released on Thursday by the ministry’s Information Officer, Jalaludeen Usman, parents and guardians were reminded that both day and boarding schools will resume for the continuation of the second term.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam, emphasized that education remains a top priority under Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership. The Ministry of Education is also set to begin JAMB CBT training for sponsored students in preparation for upcoming examinations.

The statement urged parents to ensure timely resumption, as late arrivals will not be tolerated. The closure, which began on March 1, had sparked concerns from religious groups and civil society over its impact on the education system.
