Mohamed Salah Signs New Liverpool Contract to Extend Stay Beyond 2025, Vows to Win More Trophies as He Continues Career at Anfield
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has officially signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay at Anfield beyond the 2024–25 season.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward, who joined the Reds from AS Roma in 2017, is currently enjoying yet another stellar season—scoring 32 goals in 45 matches across all competitions, including 27 in the Premier League, where he leads the scoring charts. Salah has also provided 22 assists so far this term.
Expressing his excitement, Salah told Liverpoolfc.com,
“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football. It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”
The contract extension is a major boost for new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, who will count on Salah’s experience and quality as the Reds aim to reclaim top honours in domestic and European competitions.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history, Salah ranks third on the club’s all-time goalscorer list with 243 goals in 394 appearances. Since arriving on Merseyside, he has helped the club win seven major trophies, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.
Salah also holds an impressive list of personal accolades, including three Premier League Golden Boots, two PFA Players’ Player of the Year awards, and two FWA Footballer of the Year honours.
In a message to supporters, he said,
“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”
