Bauchi Police Nab 54-Year-Old Father Accused of Repeatedly Raping His 17-Year-Old Daughter, Resulting in Pregnancy
Bauchi, Nigeria – Police in Bauchi State have apprehended a 54-year-old man, Umar Sule, following allegations that he repeatedly sexually assaulted his 17-year-old biological daughter, resulting in her pregnancy.
The arrest was confirmed in a press release issued on Friday by the Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil. According to Wakil, the complaint was lodged on April 3, 2025, by a 55-year-old resident of Kurmin Ado village.
The police report detailed that the alleged incidents occurred on multiple occasions in November 2024 while the victim’s mother was away. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime. A medical examination confirmed the victim’s three-month pregnancy. The victim corroborated her father’s confession, stating the abuse occurred when her mother was visiting relatives.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered that the case be brought before a court of law upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
