Landlord’s Son Kills 22-Year-Old Tenant in Ondo Over Argument

Tragedy struck in Ode-Irele, Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, as a 22-year-old lady, Joy Tale, was reportedly hacked to death by her landlord’s son, 41-year-old Odunayo Olomolatan.

The incident occurred on Monday during a heated argument between the two, according to information gathered by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with NAN. He said the suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ode-Irele.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that the lady was allegedly hacked to death during an argument with her landlord’s son. The suspect has been arrested and an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding her death,” Ayanlade stated.

In response to the incident, Chairman of Irele Local Government, Olajide Akinfe, appealed for calm among residents, urging them not to take the law into their own hands. Akinfe, who visited the police division, assured that necessary measures have been put in place to ensure justice is served.
